about the author

Desiree grew up in San Diego, California and currently makes her home in Mustang, Oklahoma. Webber is the director of the Mustang Public Library and a former children’s librarian. She loves to cook, read books, ride bicycles and travel. She lives with her husband Steve and two cats named Tornado and Itty Bit.

of four books:


The Buffalo Train Ride — a true story of how fifteen buffalo traveled from the Bronx Zoo to the Wichita National Forest and Game Preserve in Oklahoma to create the first federally-funded bison refuge in the United States. [92 pages]

Bone Head: Story of the Longhorn — gives the history of the long horn and tells how this symbol of the American West was saved from extinction. [74 pages]

Travel the Globe: Multicultural Story Times — presents story time plans and materials for thirteen foreign countries plus one Native American story time for the United States. [co-authored – 245 p.]

The Kids’ Book Club: Lively Reading and Activities for Grades 1-3 — encourage young readers to love reading and books with prepared activities for sixteen featured titles. [co-authored – 252 p.]
